Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Syllabus Agent handles information when you use the iOS app.

Information you provide

• Account information: your email address and authentication data are processed by our account-service provider so you can sign in.
• Course information: course names, syllabus text, notes, dates, and study inputs that you enter are stored locally on your device in the current app experience.
• Support messages: information you choose to send when contacting support.

AI processing

When you use an AI study feature, the question and relevant course or syllabus text you selected are sent through our authenticated backend to an AI processing provider to generate the requested response. Do not submit information you do not want processed. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and should be checked against official course materials.

Purchases

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple. We receive transaction identifiers, product identifiers, subscription status, expiration information, and environment data needed to verify access. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

Diagnostics and security

We may record limited operational events such as whether a study request or subscription verification succeeded, together with technical counts and product identifiers. We do not include the text of your syllabus or study prompt in these diagnostic events. We use reasonable safeguards, authenticated requests, server-side credential storage, and row-level access controls.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, provide requested study tools, verify subscription access, maintain security, troubleshoot service reliability, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

Local course data remains on your device until you delete it, delete your account in the app, remove the app, or clear app data. Backend account and subscription records are retained while needed to provide the service, meet security and accounting requirements, or comply with law.

Account deletion

You can request permanent account deletion in the app at Settings → Delete Account. The app deletes the authenticated account and associated backend data and clears locally stored course data. Subscription billing is managed by Apple; deleting your account does not itself cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel subscriptions in Apple ID subscription settings.

Children

Syllabus Agent is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised for material updates.
